Our mobile TB testing service provides on-site tuberculosis screening by bringing healthcare professionals directly to locations such as workplaces, schools, community centers, or private residences. Instead of individuals traveling to a clinic or hospital, the medical team performs the testing at the requested location, making the process more convenient and efficient for groups or organizations that need multiple people screened. This service helps ensure timely testing while reducing disruptions to work or daily activities.
Once the skin test is professionally read during the second visit, I provide a signed clinical report on the spot. This documentation is formatted to be submitted immediately to Atlanta employers, schools, or medical boards.
Ready Nurse Healthcare is a private-pay concierge service. While we do not bill insurance companies directly, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (superbill) that you may submit to your provider for potential reimbursement.
Per clinical guidelines, if the skin test is not read within 72 hours, the test is considered invalid and must be repeated. We schedule both of your appointments simultaneously to ensure you stay within the required window for a valid result.
In most cases, a doctor’s order is not required for a standard PPD skin test for employment or school. If you have a specific form from your employer that needs a professional signature, please have it ready during the first visit.
If you have a history of a positive PPD skin test, a repeat skin test is generally not recommended as it may cause a significant local reaction. In these cases, a chest X-ray or a TB blood test (IGRA) is usually required. Please consult your physician or contact us to discuss.
Wear short sleeves or loose clothing so the nurse can easily access your forearm, where the TB skin test is usually placed. Prepare a clean, well-lit area such as a small table or countertop for the healthcare professional to set up their supplies. If you are receiving a TB skin test (PPD), remember that the test site must be checked 48–72 hours later, so plan to be available for the follow-up reading. After the test is placed, avoid covering the area with bandages or applying creams or lotions, and try not to scratch the site. Fortunately, no special preparation such as fasting or stopping medications is required for a TB test.
Both the placement and the reading are quick and efficient, typically taking 15 to 20 minutes. We prioritize your time while ensuring all CDC clinical protocols are strictly followed for an accurate result.
